    Another craigslist folly

Dakotas thread reminded me of a craigslist ad I saw the other day and wanted to share with everyone. It's hilarious what people want other people to do free by trying to convince them it's in their best interest! LOL!

Oh yeah, Merry Christmas everyone! May you have a blessed day an be filled with the reason for the season!

Determine never to be idle. No person will have occasion to complain of the want of time who never loses any. It is wonderful how much may be done if we are always doing.

Free mobile Home For Scrap/Rebuild MUST BE MOVED

Acquired by eviction? wouldn't that mean he already owned it in the first place? Must have spent all available money to move it himself on eviction fees lol.

the craziest part is that he would have gotten responses- people will actually fall for this and be prepared to remove it for free

    lol @ the pool.

I this all the time down here but with Hot Tubs. "Free hot tub, but you have to unhook it, move it, supply the labor to move it, etc etc etc...but it's free!"

Hell..just charge me at that point...yessh.

Sirscrapalot - Nothing is free. You just may not always be aware of what the true cost is till it's to late.

Lol the Facebook garage sales around here had about ten free pools on there. There was one that had a humongous deck that you HAD to take with.....for free. The illegals around here jump all over these things.....every time lol

This is why I focus on ewaste. lol.

Less hassle, an I'd rather take a dozen CRTs then deal with "free" pools and hot tubs.

The one that I hate the worst is: "Free Firewood! Just cut down the tree, haul off the brush, and you can have the logs for FREE! Must be insured!" But then, I sell firewood for a living, so I have an actual understanding into how much work is involved from standing tree to cozy fireplace. But this one still really irks me. I mean, these people think that someone is going to pay for insurance so that they can go around and work for free? I like to reply to these kind of ads with something like, "FREE premium gardening soil! Just clean out my gutters, and you can take the mulch!"

For the occasional cutter, yeah getting insurance might be a pain to such a job but aren't these a good source to find wood that you can sell later on? Or does the wood you sell for fire wood come from your tree removal/trimming service so its side $$ from the main job that you do? Then I can see how the "come and get it 'free' irks you"...

I know a couple of guys that have a tree trimming business. They sell firewood as a by-product of that. They would NEVER cut down a whole tree for someone just for "free" firewood to sell or even to use themselves. And doing these types of jobs without insurance is just crazy if you ask me. WAAAAY too much risk. I worked for a guy that did this when I was in highschool. He overestimated my strength(I was a very scrawny teen, tall, but scrawny) and I was just barely able to stop the
log from going through the roof. All he said was "good thing I have insurance" lol
