Are you getting a lot of batteries at that price? I have heard ads on the radio from the auto parts dealers such as Auto Zone advertising in store credits in the amount of $5.00 for each junk battery you bring in.

$5.00 per battery only works out to be $.14 per pound on a 35 pound auto battery which is still pretty low considering what scrap batteries are selling for at today's prices.

Would you rather have $4 in cash or $5 in credit for junk you have to go travel ten or more miles to get? (I live in a very rural area.) I buy from guys who have drawers full of those coupons. I don't even worry about those guys. My competition is core buyers. I don't go around buying batteries like I used to. I still get some calls and guys bringing them by.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.
