well thrown away is a loose term ive actually not been going to the trouble of taking them out, they been going to the shredder

If thier still good you should be able to sell them on e-bay

Did anybody find the thread or was that guy just being a dink. I've got a PILE of automobile ECM's sitting around.

I just sold a GM after I pulled the board out of the alum housing, it still leaves a chunk of alum. around the pins but they take it. They threw it in one of my bigger piles, I think m.b. but I'll have to check with Computerscrapper to be sure. I know he does not like Fords cause the case is filled with solid tar and you can't remove it, and the buyers don't like that. Also I heard there is gold contacts (or board) having to do with airbags, but that could get dangerous if one accidentally went off. Hope this helps some,,, On the GM board, I figure there's 2 lb of alum. left after removing the board. I think the lid is stainless but haven't spark tested it yet.

That was just me cheating while typing, sorry it's motherboard but I don't remember if it was #1,#2, or#3, that's why I said I'll have to check with CS.
