My brother came across a pretty nice side by side stainless fridge on CL a few years back. Doesn't cool seller says.

He went out and took a look at it, took down some info then contacted the manufacturer to see if it was still under warranty. It was, so he ponied up the $100 or whatever the guy wanted, took it home and had a tech come out to install and charge a new compressor.

Not to say the fridge you have is still under warranty, but it's something to think about in the future if you come across new/newer stuff that doesn't work any more.

Excellent idea. In fact, just got a call to picked up a stainless steel side by side fridge that partially works. Wifey would love this fridge.
