Yes, DWJ it was me. I second valve handles. I just sold two valves today plus some door knobs and some spindles from a broken bannister to some crafters.

Also, wooden boxes and crates sell well for me. I sold one old crate that has "fireworks" stenciled on it that's going to be repurposed to be a tool box for someone's teardrop camper.

Oddly enough, I've been selling old medical tools for crafts. Some people are a little on the strange side.

hello all, i sell tons of odd things on ebay..i get alot of it from my junk yard for 30 cents a pound.....i dont know how to post a link to my ebay id but if you search items by seller ( wadarbr54 ) and look under sold listings you can see some of the odd things ive sold....off the top of my head METAL MILK CRATES & plastic ones both sell good also metal pails ( i call them rod buckets ) old metal fishing stringers, any old enamel pots or bowls ( even if they have holes ) , wiping solder bars, solder, and scrap pewter..thats all off the top of my head.....these all sell fast for me

Yes, on the circular saw blades! I've even seen paintings on regular straight saw blades.

My sister is part of a community Meetup group that had a Nightstand Auction. Each of them acquired a cruddy old nightstand, and then cleaned and painted them up, and sold them for charity. It was a nice event, and the various nightstands all came out charming. Not my style of decor, but sweet.

LPs are records, but you might not be old enough to remember those...

Speaking of old records, I have a Grateful Dead LP from 1975 that someone melted into a candy dish. I spent $2 for it at a thrift shop and keep my ponytail holders in it. So even the old scratched and unplayable ones have crafting value.

I will just say on actually selling on etsy, you best have a product that is very unique, an that comes from one I know with much experience dealing with them. According to her they were great before they got super big, not it's basically a snipe fest of who can make the cheapest product, an lots of similar things. For example, my wife does purses a lot. She won't touch etsy, to many people, an their prices are crazy low, or super high. I looked into it when she asked me, an basically said.."Make your own page, or get your stuff in stores, an other places to sell them."

The lady who I mention above, is one who's opinion I trust when it comes to crafty things. She's very good with her work, an I have no reason to doubt her. She used to use them an now won't go near the site.

YMMV, so don't go throwing mud at me. Just my opinion, an hers. Maybe we should start a new thread on etsy so we don't pollute the awesome sticky..? Just asking, put down your pitchforks an torches.

Im not sure if this was mentioned and its certainly not stuff that can be sold on Etsy but wood pallets and (believe it or not) broken up cement. I have sold old broken pieces of cement from a driveway before. Didnt bring much but it is possible.

Yeah. People use the cement chunks as fill in raised beds and planters, for gardening stuff.

Can do a lot of things with wood, craft wise. Good idea, same on wiring.

Just cause it's for crafting doesn't mean you need to use etsy, it's just yet another tool in the arsenal. I prefer flea markets, craft forums, CL (Specially for things like wood, concrete, rocks, etc), ebay, yadda yadda yadda. Crafting folks look everywhere for material so I'm told by the artsy folks I know that do it.

oh I dunno, was just thinking about the list getting lost in a shuffle of various conversations on etsy. Etsy is kind of limited on what you can sell there. It's your thread an sticky, feel free to ignore me at will. An no idea where etsy specific would go, we got an ebay section but thats cause we have a lot of folks who use it, etc etc.

I'll just hush on Etsy, an keep to adding items that can be sold to crafters, regardless to the where and how of it. Ha ha!

It's like eBay Mech, but for crafting folks, an no auctions that I know of. Big online site for people to sell their crafted goods.

By like ebay I mean a internet exchange, but with just but it now prices if I recall. My wife makes purses an such, she could go there open a little store an sell all her stuff there online, with them getting a cut. I think Lousy posted their fee's.

It's a good source if you have unique items you craft from my understanding an research, but if you do something like my wife..it's flooded with thousands of people selling the same items for the most part. Purses, scarfs, clothing, etc. There are all kind of things there tho, from home crafter's, professionals, etc.
