I don't know at what temp the stuff burns, but I do know when welding or cutting galvanized material, don't breath the fumes, they can really make you sick. I've had headaches and stuff from it before, just not sure about the temp thresholds or using as a grill top. I personally wouldn't, if only due to the effects I've known from cutting or welding it. Much rather use clean, well greased (haha! yes, cooking grease ; ) metal or SS for a grate
