Taking things apart to see how they work, and fail, has positively impacted my engineering work. Lately, my young son has been getting more involved in smashing things up! It is really just a hobby for us, but also a good leaning deal for him. He’s learning how things work, that our time and effort equals money from the yard, and we get to use the hatchet from time to time. The hatchet generally only comes out when mom isn’t around.......

Welcome, I am in a similar boat as you. My 9-5 is software engineering and I do scrap stuff on the side for fun because I like recycling things (helps the earth) and taking things apart (or breaking/smashing them!)..... Since youve lurked a while, I am sure you are aware the troves of god info on here.
