Los Angeles is a big city with hundreds of scrap yards, reliable well that's another story. Los Angeles can be a lonely city also, so as others had said, please introduce yourself, and maybe the big city wont be so lonely!

I use google to find scrap yards in my area and I go and talk to them. Check out the yard and prices and how they operate. Also check out the links Brasscatcher provided. Lots of info.
