    Anyone else from Rochester, NY?

Hello everyone, my name is Matt. I'm a native Floridian who moved to Rochester and lived here for a little over 10 years. With the economy the way it is, I quit my job and got into repairing and selling old washers and dryers. Was tired of the 9-5 nonsense and making someone else money. Anywho, I found your forum and thought it might be a good way to connect with local scrappers. Thanks everyone.

I'm just west of Rochester in Orleans county. Do you just fix up the ones you find or are you looking for a supply ?

Actually both smashing. I fix up the machines that are worth repairing to make a profit and scrap the rest. Always looking for a new supply! Thought maybe I could buy from local scrappers who find repairable machines and help them make money too. Scrap yards don't pay much for washers and dryers these days so if we can both make a little more money, all the better.

Hey spinroch. Thanks for the reply. If you ever find any washers and dryers maybe you could contact me? I pay around $20-$30 per repairable machine. More if they are in good shape.

The local business that I was selling to got a contract with Home Depot so he doesn't buy from me anymore. Good to know!
