I honestly cannot imagine having to think about carrying a gun to do a pick up and if I did, I would never have started scrapping.

Just think about all the brass, lead and steel that could be recycled into something actually worthwhile if only the military and police had guns!

The Redcoats are not coming! They are all up here in Canada hiding from crazy Americans waving guns around for no reason. I'm sure I will catch a whole lotta flak (pun intended) for this one, but when I watch the news, I don't hear reports about people being shot in schools or movie theaters, unless the story came from the US.

Semi-automatic or automatic in the hands of civilians? No call for it at all. They are illegal here in Canada so far as I know and that's how it should be. WTF are you gonna do with an AK-47 except hurt yourself or someone else? The way I see it, all the people that have been hurt in gun "accidents" is more than argument enough to ban them.
Make guns illegal for the citizens? Why should my option to carry a weapon be restricted? I don't understand. Wouldn't it be more effective to make robbery and murder a crime? You Canadians really have your priorities messed up.

BTW, an AK-47 is a rifle.

If you need an automatic or semi-automatic to hunt, maybe you should go back to the firing range for more practice. Single shot is a sport, showing skill, spraying bullets into the air and hitting everything is, well, I can't think of a forum-friendly phrase for that.

I'm not sure if that's sarcasm about robbery and murder, but in case you don't know, THEY ARE AS ILLEGAL AS GUNS HERE IN THE GREAT WHITE NORTH! Where I am now forced to add, we have far less per capita of both than many areas of the US. I can't say why that is for sure, but I have ideas why.
