I think there must be a huge potential in reselling medical stuff overseas from what I have read here.
I can see that no one, 'spesh in America... (Law suits!!!!) Would want out of date medical equipment.
So the resale market would be near nothing.
But overseas.. Well they know what they are expected to pay for it, but if they can get it for 1/3 the cost. They will.

Look around for gene sequencers. They first started making them in the late '90's, when Gold was cheap.
Stuff that old is out of date. Basicly its a heating element that heats a metal block up by very specific degrees in very fine timed steps. Inside the block there's holes for the vials containing the DNA it sequencers.
So, what sort of metal transmits heat very well and considering the price of new tec DNA medical gear, wouldn't affect the price much as "if you want, you have to pay for it.." and was relativley cheap back then...

    Yeah, Gold..!! oh, and Silver.....!

Expect to find nice wee 2 x 3 x 1 inch blocks of Gold, or Silver, or Gold plated Silver, with a bunch of holes drilled in them.
