Welcome to SMF. This is a great source of information.

I can't be too far from you. West part of Mesa.

I scrap as an aside. Mostly dumpsters. I'm looking mainly for decent stuff that I can keep, turning someone else's trash into saving money on things that I would normally buy. My house is overflowing with freebies that needed either no or minor rework. Incredible what people throw away. I expect to continue doing this until year's end. After that I don't know.

I have a link to ARS statutes for scrapping rules and regulations in one of my few postings. Pain in the butt regarding wire. There are other links from other individuals that reference sites regarding each state's rules.

I vaguely remember posting a link to Mesa regulations regarding dumpster issues. I cannot seem to come up with it right now.

I'm right by the Usery Pass/Salt River area. Cool. I read the ARS statutes, had a little trouble comprehending parts of it but it seems like in general the only thing that would concern someone as small as myself is the law regarding wires. Don't strip them, got it. At least it saves me a lot of time and trouble. I work at ASU and I can not believe the stuff that people throw out, working, good condition. Even at the campus, at the end of each semester they put out several large dumpsters for students clearing out their dorms - I must have nabbed over 4 mini fridges in 2 years ("in 2 years" meaning the 4 times they put out dumpsters), a coworker of mine actually found a pretty decent flatscreen television, 24 inch I think it was. It's cheaper to just throw it away than to bring it back home with them. All the apartments in that area too are treasure troves.

Funny I was walking to my car from work the other week and passing an apartment complex I saw a 32" tubetv by the dumpster, on the side of the street plainly visible. I kept walking because I already have a small pile of TVs I need to get to. Told myself that if it was still there in 2 days I'd grab it. Sure enough it was, go up to it, and realise someone opened it and took out the dg cable and yolk, left the rest there. Hah.

Which yard do you use, mainly? i-scrap in tempe right off the 202/rural seems to have good reviews, havent been to any here yet though.
