Theft alert ,theft alert

GOT BACK FROM MY mO IN LAWS HOUSE, i WAS ONLY GONE FOR A COUPLE OF HRS. GOT ON LINE AND MY COMP WENT DOWN SO i WENT OUT TO MY SCRAP SHACK TO GET A SPARE. IN THAT 2 HRS SOME ONE TORE OFF PART OF THE BACK WALL. AND TOOK FIVE WORKING COMPUTERS, A TUB OF MOTHER BOARDS, SOME FINGER CARDS, A TUB OF HEAT SINKS AND A HALF BUCKET OF COPPER. i GUESS THIS MEANS COMPUTER SCRAP HAS MADE THE MAIN STREAM IN THE SCRAP WORLD. THIS IS ABOUT $400 i CANT AFFORD TO LOSE. ANY BUYERS GET ABOUT 60 LB OF BOARDS FROM MY AREA PLEASE LET ME KNOW. THEY ARE ALL hp BOARDS EXCEPT FORE A COUPLE OF dELL AND ONE ibm. bbL GOTTA GO

This just sucks Olddude. I've been ripped of before, not scrap but my tools. A thief is one of the lowest forms of life I can think of, especially one that steals another mans living. Hope you catch the SOB and deal with him / them like I would like to.

Sorry to hear that it really sucks when that happens.A few years ago some idiot kicked our front door in while my wife was home alone but my rotties nearly mauled him to death.That was good though my wife couldnt shoot him with the dogs in the way.

That does suck olddude. It's a bad feeling when you can't kick someone's ass because you don't know who did it. People who steal are the scum of the earth. Its bad when all of your hard work is ripped from you. Don't stop though karma is a ***** and hopefully you get a good score soon.

yep:v all things considered we think we know who it was. I only have 2 customers who deliver in cars and only one of then deals in computer scrap as well as copper.

that sucks, i was broken into a few years ago never really recovered, i worry to about my stuff just laying out and ive had lots of customers buying used tires lately, good luck oldude

we mark all our mother boards with a paint pen it may sound silly but has made it where the cops caught 2 thieving bassturds in the past we now have a more secure storage facility but still mark them. I hope that you have some better luck olddude. I think we have all at one p[oint or another been victims.

Thats a good idea, pen ink is like DNA, every batch is different & Scotland yard operates a 'pen register' where they have a sample of every batch of ink ever made & can compear it against any other sample.

I'd suggest a small spray bottle of water with a solution of highlighter ink/water/small amount of alcohol in it, just a spray on your scrap & its marked from then on.
You use a UV torch in the dark & that ink just 'jumps out at you' from the darkness.
Pretty amazing really, those new UV LED's are far far brighter than any flouro UV bulb.
