Ok so heres my awesome and I mean awesome story about my one and only experience with gov liquidation. I bought a lot in columbus ohio back in early 08 I think it might have been Jan or Feb. Either way worst experience ever. The lot was for 50 ton of sheet iron I just wanted to try a small lot before I started buying bigger lots from them. So I bought it and the condition was they would load it and it was clearly stated in the lot like that. I would just have the scrap yard spot a container they load it weight it bring in another until the job is finished if you go over the 50 ton you pay whatever you bid was per ton. So I have the scrap yard spot a Highside 80 yard trailer and they guy tells me yeah he can load it. Wrong. They were using a small front end loader to load it and it wouldn't even reach top of the trailer barely. So the guy says I will try to load it one loaded bucket goes in no problem second loaded bucket a piece comes out of the bucket slides down the loader arms and smashes the window out. The guy gets out starts screaming about how he hates his job and this is BS. Me and my buddy are just staring in amazement at how much of a cluster f@ck it is has turned into. A they didn't have the equipment to load a trailer. B they didn't know what they were doing from the word go. So now I have a trailer with about 200 lbs of crap loaded on it and they can't put more in it with a busted up window. So now I have to have a basically empty trailer swapped out for a lowside container and the scrap yard only has 30 yard container oh joy I might be able to fit six ton of scrap in each one. NOW HERE IS THE KICKER I HAD TO RENT A BOBCAT AND LOAD IT MYSELF. So 10 containers later at 100 dollars a switchout and one day with the bobcat rental plus delivery and pickup I am pissed so what do I do I go over my 50 ton limit by 12 tons to cover my expenses for them not having the experience or equipment to do the job. What should have been 3 or 4 trailer loads turned into 11 switchouts at 1100.00 plus bobcat rental 150 a day and delivery and pickup not to mention the two days of driving 5 hours roundtrip total time 10 hours plus two eight hour days for my employee I lost money. So what should have been a 2000 dollar profit for just watching them load trailers turned into a total cluster f#$k and they had the nerve to bill me 1200 dollars for going over 50 ton. Lets just say they never got there 1200 and I was lucky to get back my original investment. NEVER AGAIN.
