    Paypal and selling precious metals

Just caught my eye that Paypal's acceptable use policy requires approval to accept payments for certain items/services.

Since most of the buyers/sellers on here deal with paypal, I thought I would point this out to make everyone aware.

Here's what it states in the sales/services requiring approval:

Airlines and scheduled or non-scheduled charters/jets/air taxi operators; collecting donations as a charity or non-profit organization; dealing in jewels, precious metals and stones; acting as a money transmitter or selling stored value cards; selling stocks, bonds, securities, options, futures (forex) or an investment interest in any entity or property; or providing escrow services.

Not entirely sure whether or not your dealings would be considered for 'precious metals' but I wanted to throw it out there and make everyone aware.

I don't think half of the people that use PayPal including myself even take the time to read paypals policies until they end up violating it and getting their account suspended or terminated, thanks for pointing this out to everyone.

I think it goes with #6 above that. It looks like it is just for items w/ entry fee and prize.

involve gambling, gaming and/or any other activity with an entry fee and a prize, including, but not limited to casino games, sports betting, horse or greyhound racing, lottery tickets, other ventures that facilitate gambling, games of skill (whether or not it is legally defined as a lottery) and sweepstakes unless the operator has obtained prior approval from PayPal and the operator and customers are located exclusively in jurisdictions where such activities are permitted by law.

I started out buying from a guy on ebay but now when I have to restock I just send him a Paypal money gift (I think it's called) and down in the memo area I just list the model # of what I'm ordering. Never had a problem there.

Watch it on the "gift" option..you will have your account locked fast if the amounts add up. I was thinking about using an out of state buyer on my cats who offered a paypal payment option. What a valuable post. THANKS!!

I've got some cats looking for a good home. The kind with four paws. They are non-ferrous and get under cars though - you don't need a sawzall to get them out - some tuna will work just fine.
