I use the cheap 10,000 lb super winch on my trailer, if the car or truck has been loaded with extra scrap no tires I use a snatch block attached to the item being winched onto the trailer, run the cable though the block and back to the trailer head for an anchor.



Really stubborn stuff gets double blocked, another block at the trailer head, run the cable through and back to the item being dragged on where it is attached, double blocking slows the line speed of the winch increasing the pulling power for every block added into the rigging.

If something from under the car gets snagged on the rear of the trailer, it's coming off by brute force.
