When is the best time to go curb shopping?

In the night, when people start putting out their trash?

Or in the morning, when the garbage trucks start taking people's trash?

Your going to have to find the perfect time for your area, but I have found that when I start my run at around 5:00 in the afternoon, I beat the other guys that go at night to a lot of the stuff. In the morning, starting around 7:00 is best. There is more competition in the morning though, so you have to really speed through your run in order to beat the other guy. That's what I have found, it may be a little different in your area.

That's a great question. I learned from following my competition, figuring out the times they go around. Then, i set a time that is before their schedule, and in the opposite direction. That way if they are running their course and you get there later, go closer to the end of their route before they get there. My times here at home is 4:00 then retrace my tracks at 6:00 then call it quits. I found that to be the best time. Recently, i have contacted apartment owners so I am alot more busy with those places, but i still do curb shopping. I try to get my picking homework done before the big spring cleanup. Hope this helps you from the Picker himself!

An opinion. Timing your scrapping is like timing the stock market. Income averaging is the same as scrapping averaging. Diversity is the key to success.

Best times to curb shop is when colleges are winding their seasons down. Students dump everything before leaving for summer. My upstairs neighbor is clearly getting ready - his trash has been packed with useful items each week. He's like my personal shopper these days.
