Attn: Scrap Yard Owners and Employees (or other recycling drop off locations)

I wanted to take a quick poll for our members who own/operate a scrap yard or recycling center, or work for one.

We may expand the forum with new areas specifically for topics by members who fit this criteria.

Please take a second and vote on the poll

The result counts of this poll are public however individual users who voted are not.

Are you classified as a scrap yard by your town / county? If not i would just say "want to open one, some day"

no business license or occupational lisc required in this county but I get where you are coming from. I have been inspected by the sheriff and code enforcement and met all requirements. but im happy to be just the guy down the road who will take your computers and servers my days of empire building are pretty much over.

I will have to get back with you as I'm in the process of moving. Main house is done and now it's on to the garage/shop, shed and the side yard used for storage...if the EPA follows me over you can put me down as a yes.

Rare Earth, Refractory and Precious Metal processing and refining. We buy what the scrap yards don't in any form from solid, turnings, sludges, powders, even liquids and solutions.

I operate a metal processing and refining company. We don't take public scrap, so I can't say we're a "scrap yard"

You'd still be in the 'recycling center' field. You own and operate a physical building that operates solely to do metal recycling right? It's not a backyard/storage unit operation correct?

I work and buy for a well known global recycler, if I was the owner I'd be on my yacht somewhere. Do I qualify? Do only thing is we have not gotten into ecycling. I'm trying to learn to be more of an asset when the inevitable comes.
