So I wanna know your personal NON business competitional opinion on where to move

Been living with the Rents for way to long and for that past few years i have come to realize that its really not fair to them at all. Bless my parents heart for putting up with me n my sis for this long. I really dont deserve to live here any more and would like to move out this year really. Now if you guys can help me out and not fear a lil competition in your areas or even if you know areas of the county that could use a few more scrappers maybe give me a lil heads up, Or even if you have a job offer for a strong back! I make most of my money from Ewaste and use metal pick ups as food and gas money. but yea its time and i need some new scenery :-( plus this area is very saturated with way too many ppl scrapping and ewaste is pretty much taking by the refiners.

    thanks in advance.
    Monj

PS. rent needs to be around the 600-700 dollar per month range for something that has a garage.

dropyotop. check out CL house/apts ads. youd be amazed what you find. Jersey blows on monthly rent (usual around here is 900-1100 for a 1 bedroom). While in washington tennesse and pretty much anyplace i have found places for full houses and 3 bedrooms for 600-800. just gotta look.

    I bought a 2 bed, 2 bath with attached garage for $491/month.

If you qualify that might be something to look at.

If you're still wanting to rent, hit up the CL in the areas you may want to relocate to and see what rents are going for (under housing on CL)

In Boston, You can combine the 2
Meaning you should be able to rent a parking spot for around the 600-700 dollar per month range

Keep in mind that although rent might be significantly less in rural areas, so is the pay. Sure you could probably find a $300-$400 place in the sticks, but I can almost guarantee you that the scrap yards around there will pay you a whole lot less also. If you are just getting out on your own, you might be better off finding a place with a roommate or two. You wouold be able to get a bigger place than if it were just you, and you could split all the bills.

Finding a cheap place in a city is not impossible. I live in a 1000 sq. ft. house with a little yard and a little garage (made for a Model-T) and pay less than $800 a month with all bills included. This is in the most popular neighborhood in Denver. Just keep on looking!

1.you cant avoid the other scrappers, just look at the noobs here every day, and this forum only reaches 10,000 or so out of 400,000,000

    2. the midwest hasent been hit that hard yet, but, the drout is cqusing them to catch up with the rest of the depressed country.

    3. got to think of fuel cost if you choose the chaeper boonies.

    4. ewaste is the new catolyc converter, or the new urban gold rush. with pm prices falling, and the falling ammount of recoverable pms in newer computers it is hard and going to get harder to turn a profit for us small timers. get lucky, go big or go home.

    5. may not be a good time to leave the nest.

    6. if you are determind to do so, maybe look for a scrap partner to share rent. just my .02

ps. in the dakota oil patch may be a good place for scrap, but be prepaired to live in a tent. if you can find one for sale up there.

Don't move to Chicagoland. You could find that price but, you wouldn't be safe. You'd get shot or robbed by the weekend.

I would recommend the Western Slope of Colorado from Grand Junction to Ordway, you can get a smaller farm property for 700-800 outside of town and there is plenty of scrap, especially junk cars, stock pile the ferrous till you have a mess of them, then hire a deadheading flatbed truck to bring it to market. It is a fairly prosperous area so you can charge for removal services.N.W. New Mexico would be good...Durango..Farmington.

If u are a hardworker, which i assume you are id say head north to north dakota..get a job workin 2 weeks on 2 weeks off in the oil fields.. i live in mn, n ill be heading up there in the fall, hopefully (gf approving).. quit my ft job n have more time to scrap as well.. then id buy a new truck n scrap my running crwn vic..kidding kidding..thats where the cash is afterall..idk about the rest of ya but its all about the benjamins for me. word around town is a local guy worked 400 some days straight up there n made over a million

Back to your question, mn is kinda harsh on scrap laws..its available, somewhat contradicts w my work schedule.. as far as scap in nd it is definitely there..your prob would be housing near the oilfields..absolutely ludacris...not to mention the price for a gallon of milk is close to 8$..

Gl with wherever you choose to relocate

I second the oil fields. N.D. or PA. My son works the east (of the Miss. river) and is looking for people to hire for several jobs - office, labor, truck driver etc. Pay is very good (labor will start around $50,000/yr/). BUT - it's not for wimps.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.
