It's either rusted screws or everything is connected/held in place by plastic pieces that have that little lip that you have to get past to remove whatever piece it is that you're working on. Some of the load that I'm working on came from a school too. All apples for the most part - lots of plastic, rust and no processor chips to be found. Although, I'm up to my ears in the ic chips!
