    Yep, still being sold but for some it is cheaper to get a small length than having to buy larger quantity than what they need. It comes down to $. Why buy new 10 foot length when all you need is a used 5 foot for testing something. Like Mechanic688 said, their rigs cost money but for testing second hand stuff they pick up, they will buy short pieces.
