My buyer will buy cpu's in as small as 1/4 lbs. lots so I know he has an accurate scale. Personally for small items like cpu's and memory I use a postal scale I bought off of ebay.
If you are using a buyer that uses the scale you discribed for cpu's and memory I would move on to another buyer. Mike.
