Just keep in mind George that Habitat for Humanity's goal is to raise money so if your not willing to pay for their scrap you probably won't get far. I may be wrong but I get the impression that directrecycle is going to pay them something.

Correct. However, their goal is to also accept any and all items that they feel will resale quickly. Some items do not sell for a multiple of reasons.

I will always still to my rule (for now anyways) of never paying for scrap metal (unless via an auction or if a really good deal comes along, and the client isnt hard headed). I know most people on here will be even for single ticket items, but I have never seen the value in doing that.

However, with that said, I am willing (but won't actively advertise it) to pay for electronic scrap, because I do see really good potential there, and I see the prices for escrap staying more current then it does for regular scrap metal.

Any businesses goal is to make money without spending a lot in return. Other wise, you do take away from profits.

My offer to them, was to take any scrap appliances and other metal that had no resale value or could not be fixed for one reason or the other.

I also offered to take all escrap prices, but did not offer anything as of yet.

Basically, my step here quickly is to find a ewaste buyer that I feel comfortable with and use their pricing list, to determine my own prices. Kind of like what parttimescrapper did when he first started out.

Also, one benefit that I have, is that there is an ewaste buyer very well known and local here to me. So I can also work out maybe some pricing with them as well.

However, they will only get the stuff, that other ewaste buyers don't buy. They literally take ANYTHING electronical.
