Broke down my first computer today

    Broke down my first computer today

    Broke down my first computer today (lap top). Didn't take pics of it before breaking it down, but here is a link to the model I had.

    Here is the hard drive. JVC JDE2064M
    I am guessing this is high grade? No platter that I can tell. Tape drive? I got one cover off, can't get the other side off because I don't have a jeweler screwdriver.




    Floppy drive. Epson SMD-1000
    Did a search. Doesn't look like they sell for much. I took it apart after the pic. Guessing it's a high grade board as well.




    Now on to the actual boards. This is what I have. I don't see any chips that can be removed? Sell as is?





    Here's another from the side. Have never seen 2 boards stacked like that before.

    In your first motherboard picture. Do you see the rectangular green board with the 5 black rectangles on it? TOP CENTER of the picture. Its plugged into a white socket. Thats a ram chip pull that out.

    I love to break things down to see what's inside. I would buy a very good set of small screw drivers, the ones with big handles.

    Also if you are going to break down towers look into the extra long bits. They are sold on ebay and others have discussed them on the forum. Mike.

    Hard drive board is a different grade....It has its own grade, they are commonly known as logic boards....Most floppy drives do not have great boards in them and they are usually small. As Mech said it is usually better to sell them whole because they are a major pain to tear apart without a lot of time spent.

    The main board or motherboard is actually grouped in with server boards since it came from a laptop and not a desktop computer. Nice job on the tear down.
