    The older ram do have silver fingers and typically the “chips” attached were noticeably thicker than more recent ram. Removable IC chips can fetch a better price than motherboards. Some IC chips are ceramic. Take note of these. If you find a ceramic IC chip with a sticker peel it up. Some have a round window underneath that allows you to see into the chip. You may like what you see.
