I have never broken one down. When I have enough for a Gaylord full I know it is time to round up other materials and move them out.

I have 4 dishwasher liners that serve as holders for these outside. When the four are full, that is pretty close to a Gaylord. Outside storage is the key for these. Does not matter if they get wet.
