    They haven't REALLY cared until very recently. Recycling this stuff only became in vogue a few years back...well in huge volumes. Like everything, when old tech FINALLY has the nail in the coffin (LCD/LED is SO prevalent in the market now), people try to find ways to make money by solving a problem...hence how do we get rid of all this leaded glass.
