I cannot say as I blame them for dropping their R2. I DO hope they will follow through and finish what they started however.

Certifications like R2 are just BS anyways. Someone made up some standards and change an EXORBITANT amount of money to get it while marketing it to other companies and the public and a "needed thing". Most companies do not care...there certainly are some and many of the larger ones just want to be able to toot their horn to the public "SEE, we are following these cool certifications by only using those vendors...doesn't it make us look GREAT?". They really could care less in most instances, it is just good PR.

I don't want to sound negative, but made up certifications are just that. I could make one up and if I had enough marketing dollars, make the public and really most companies feel they HAD to have it. Because "being certified" gives the illusion that non certified people aren't doing it right.

Again, I hope they just follow their business model, build the furnace and be a destination for all that CRAP (CRT glass). It might have to be a government subsidized venture in the end in order to handle the toxic waste since it seems extremely difficult if not impossible to make money disposing of it. Amazing we never seem to think about that when we manufacture some items.
