    You've "not had much luck finding buyers for plated items"? You must have made quite an effort to avoid them. There are buyers on this site. You can sell them on any auction site. You can sell them as is or trimmed. There are probably ten people resisting the urge to type "sell them to me". Whatever you do, go to the Gold Refining Forum and READ before attempting any refining.
