    So I have an hour and a half invested in the 15 inch transformer from the UPS above. My 3 pound hammer and about 20 whacks removed the center plug.

    The first layer of plastic and copper have been removed. The bolt cutters help a lot.

    I'm sure there are easier ways of doing this but I'm using what I have. I'll be getting 1 or 2 more of these soon and I was curious to see how much copper is in one.

    Once i get it going I unwind it until the strand of copper gets to long then I cut and repeat

    Obviously it will get faster the more you do but they can be time consuming
