Ahhh Thanks Mech! Actually I've only seen a couple of those myself. Luckily it was in something I was taking apart, although I can't remember exactly what it was. I think it served as a type of connector, sliding equally into both boards/sides(whatever it was in ; )

Part Time Scrapper is correct, it is a gold finger riser. Although you do not put it in with the ribbon cable or cable connectors, you put it in this bucket:

I didnt say put it in with the ribbon cable. I said "Think of it as a ribbon cable without the ribbon." Just to describe its function not value.
