Top board is a high grade board. Basically any board that shows alot of gold is not junk.

Bottom board is an lcd board out of an lcd monitor. The ribbon cables are sometimes silver and sometimes gold. You can tell by the color of the plating on the end of the cable.

I pay $10 pound for everything you have pictured there.
I buy and sell all types of scrap and escrap. I buy specialty and hard to sell escrap. I buy resale items. PM me or contact me at jghilino@hotmail.com
I AM ACTIVELY BUYING ESCRAP OF ALL TYPES. BOARDS, RAM, CPUS AND MUCH MORE

nice shot grouchy. Seems I see those little capacitor things, or whatever they are, on near ever shot yall post, yet I look at boards here all day long and don't find any. See those little brown things, with a silvery cap on both ends? You might want to research into those too, there's a thread about em somewhere

it takes time grouchy. That gold sure looks good in there, but sometimes it's just too much trouble to go in after, and it seems best to just toss it in the shred and fugitabout it! haha ; )

I think he was referring to the "gold" plated ground strip that looks like a big figure 8 standing on the board (X2).

I can't tell from way over here if it is a "flash" plating or just a gold anodizing being that it's just a grounding clamp(spring loaded). Grounding is critical but not quite as important as other connections so it's the first time I've seen "gold" grounds.

Haha, I knew that Mech I just didn't have anything to give about the gold bits, but thought I'd point out the others while I was there lookin at it ; )

Hey Grouchy, one thing I tried today you might consider, not sure how effective or helpful it might be, but today I removed some gold pins from a little connector and they were laying in a pile there. I took a magnet and put agin em, and they stuck to it

Ive seen alot of those on laptop motherboards. I always pull them off and put them in with the gold plated metal.

There is alot of components worth removing from boards, the question is what can you pull off without getting the board downgraded, so you need to ask your buyer that.

I pull tantalum caps, mlcc caps, gold plated metal depending on what it is, ics if they are socketed and jumper pins.

    They are tantalum capactors.

The gold looking thin plastic sheets stuck to the side of the second board (Flatscreen TV board I think) How much gold is in them, or are they extra special. They have been mentioned as 'special'.

Yeah! I've just realized why I never see any of them, because I wasn't using a magnifying glass. I took a close-up photo of something yesterday and saw them, went and got a magnifying glass, and sure enough, yep, I've been looking right at em but just didn't know it
