took mine in and got it rated as low grade insulated and got $1.20 kg
was mostly all just ribbon but had a few x-mas lights in it too, with the globes and all so I think I did ok.
if I had a scrap yard, personally I wouldn't buy the stuff, I don't rate ribbon wire as low grade which should be 30% copper minimum.
