I've got a yard that pays "plate aluminum" for these heat sinks, which is 5 cents higher than extruded right now. Surprised me so much, I even asked "Are you sure?" and they said yep - the bottom part is thicker than 1/4" so we pay plate, even with the thinner fins. At that point, I was like, ok, thank you very much.
