you will never nail an accurate sum to an "average" computer
how much does an average vehicle weigh?
how much is an "average" vehicle worth?
I have never found a more suitable comparison for a computer, than to compare it to a "vehicle"

I know that I will never really get a true estimate for each box I break down. This was more an effort in "how much is really in here?" It was hard for me to understand how the many parts broke down. I have scraped for years and the e-scrap is new to me. I still feel a little like "wow look how much I get for shredder scrap!"
