Yes the ends on phone and USB cords are gold plated. I use to cut them off and put them in with any gold pin connectors I got out of PC's. That was when you could sell them for 1.50 a pound. Prices have dropped so much on gold pin connectors I don't cut them off anymore. Most of the copper wire I get is considered #3 insulated and my local buyer takes it with the ends left on. If I were you I would check around and see how much you can sell gold connectors for. If you have a local buyer or will have to ship them. How much shipping cost are. Also check and see if you have a local buyer for insulated copper and if they will buy it with the ends on. And finally is it worth your time to sit and cut ends off.
