You can usually find these small jumpers on motherboards, hard drive boards, cd/dvd boards, finger cards, etc. They just jump 2 pins together on the plug-in's.
Not earth shattering stuff here, just something extra to grab off the boards while your pulling batteries and other things.

It was the word "plug-end" my mind went to a wire or cord with a "end-plug" and I kept looking at those drives. Amazing what some sleep will do for a thinking mind. Well aware of gold jumpers on drives, MB's and I find them on Tel-Com boards as well. Not all are gold though, question then could some be silver, as main function of a jumper is conductivity and able to be removed and/or relocated.

Some of the silver jumpers are only flash plated at the contact points. the metal of the jumper is curled to accept the pin and it is hard to see the plating but it is there.
