Thanks waredu for posting that PDF.
I found that PDF a few months ago when I had a bunch of ballasts and I found one that was NOT marked non-pcb so Google’in I went.
The ballast I had was the same size as a 4’ 2 bulb type but it had cotton insulated wire instead of plastic. After reading that PDF I said the heck with it. The CAP was not leaking so I went for it.
The one thing I do with all ballasts before cracking the cover off is freeze them solid.
After freezing the cover almost falls off the asphalt core and makes getting the tar off the coils too easy

When frozen you can split the CAP end of the core off cleanly from the transform with a 1” sharp chisel without shattering that tar into a million pieces.
Anybody remember English Toffee bars fresh out of the freezer? LOL
Anyway, I hope I never find another one that isn’t labeled. I was nervous as a dam cat.
