The remote controls I have disassembled yielded anywhere between five to ten screws, nearly always a low grade board, between two and four batteries, the rubbery sheet with the buttons, et cetera. You will not find anything really worth scrapping, although I do take them apart when things slow down. I like to keep the screws and batteries and toss them in their respective bins - you can never have too many spare parts running around your shop.
