Are you talking about the high voltage (or flyback) transformer? It depends on your yard. At my yard they are considered low grade copper bearing and pays the same as the boards, so I just leave them on. They are a pain to get off the boards anyway.
Nah a couple of whacks with a hammer... I have like 50+ of them saved up... I don't save the boards from tv/monitors. Just strip them down. I do have another question. OT- On many a board, there are the chips (usually the ones with heat sinks) Smashing them with hammer, it looks like they are made of copper/aluminum or some other non ferrous metal. I was wondering are they worth saving on their own?
