    The reason for the 39 screws..
    Is to hold the metal plate on..
    The reason for the plate is so you can line the bottom of the computer case..
    The reason for lining the bottom of the computer case is so the 39 screws won't fall out....

    The optical eye looks pretty, possable jewlery?
    The switches have the 'Gold bar' contacts. Probably a gold plated silver bar.
    The opto switches that are around the kind of spoked wheel also have a fine gold wire in them.

    Maybe try freezing paintball pellets, might work?
