Cool What a week, my fortune cookie was right for once.

Long story short, replaced my old 1 ton dually Ford, 6 months ago, with a newer Dodge Ram. Within a week the engine making some scary noises. Some bought an engine and replaced over the Christmas holidays.
Over the Easter holidays blew tranny. Great. My buddy called me an said they had a truck for sale at our scrap yard (American Iron and Metal Hamilton). Him knowing that I am a huge Ford fan and my trucks current situation, figured it would be up our alley.
I limpped the Dodge over to the scrap yard fully loaded. I got there, and voila there it was. A 1997 Ford F350 crew cab, complete with the whoopeee light on the back rack.
I tell the man my situation and he says a few guys are interested in but Scott you can have it for $950. WHAT........ I give him the $250 I had in my pocket and told him DEAL.
So I emptied the Dodge of the precious metals, the cat, the battery, tires and KICKED it goodbye.
Took the precious into the side scale. Cashed out and paid the man. He gave me the keys and I even drove off with my great tires and $125 in my pocket.
The next day my A/C guys calls and says he has a rooftop A/C for us to pickup the next day.
On way home we pickup 3 pool heaters. I strip them down when I get home.
We wake up extra early, dump the scrap off from pool heaters. $210 cool.
We race up to the rooftop pickup. I call the flatbed service while enroute. We get there and the crane is setting up. Great timing.
They are hooking up the crane to A?C unit and flatbed service shows up right on time. Man, these flatbed guys makes our company look real professional.

When I learn how to post pics and video I'll post.

Any how, I pay my A/C guys $125 and flatbed guy $100.
I strip the A/C unit at the scrapyard and 1 hour later we're cashing out $825

Man, the Scrap Gods are being nice to us. Now taking the day of to fix up the new truck, now the we have some extra disposable funds.

I am not trying to brag, trying to inspire anyone that is having a tough go at it. One day everything is falling apart, the next day it's all roses.
And that my friend's Is the life of a scrapper.

    Have a great weekend guys....
