My yard doesn't care much as long as the container never had flammable contents inside of it of that is the case they will only accept it if it has been completely cut in half.

At my yard they say have a hole in it the inspector can stick his head in. I took in a big oil tank that the hole was kind of small and he said "I can't fit my head in there" I told him "if you kick my load I bet I can fit your head in there". The load passed. Of course me and him are buddies I wouldn't tell that to just anyone. He knew it was.a.joke.
