Treating the forum as a database A data base is a storage of information, what we do on our post is add to a database But if we were to add a word at the start of each post it could make future searches more efficient / Using the word FACTS-M : for any subject that is related to a subject of Metal . / Using the word RECREATIONAL-NN: for any subject that is Not Needed for future searches of metal., having the word FACTS-M: some place would act as follows .Say you wanted to do a search on grinder blades. If each member is diligent in doing what I said, your search would go as follows FACTS-M: grinder blades , the results would be from posts that have the word FACTS-M: grinder blades Probably using the title or tags area each time would do the trick
Useing the + reply to thread red button instead of using the reply at bottom of post is a good start.

You can add tags to each post. Tags are specifically there for searching and for search engines to know whats in the post.
