    This is a bad idea but it would remove some competition and because they would be getting less metal they would be forced to offer more for the metal.

    In the short term it might - but it seems that there is real potential to run the yards out of town.

    Scrappers who have the means can cross the Ohio River and sell in KY - at least at the present. Indiana is also close. Not to mention the surrounding suburbs and cities in the southwesten Ohio area that have yards.

    It is a very short sighted ordinance, imo. Council, in it's rush to do something, may end up losing the all the tax revenue from the yards and their suppliers.
