    Simple my friend. Start writing on your scrap receipts the days spot price. Take what your yard is paying and divide it by spot.
    This will give you a percentage of spot price of what that yard is paying. After a few receipts you will start to get a few different percentages that you can average out and give you a pretty good idea of what your yard is paying at any given spot price.

    Remember in school kids were asking when are we ever going to need to know this. Well here you go!

    Example; Today spot is $3.86 my yard pays about %76 of spot for #2 copper give or take a little. So I know my yard is paying about $2.93 for #2 copper.
