Stand tall, this a very honorable and desperately needed profession. I scrapped and worked yards to get through College. I paid my way through school and received a master degree. I taught at CU for 2 and 1/2 years, absolutely hated the politics and went back to scrapping!! Now, don't kid yourself..this will and does take a tool on your body so plan for old age wisely! My lady and I scrapped on our 2nd date so we could have some fun money..she was a bit skeptical but got into it fast. We lived off that while fighting the VA for her disability pay..took 17 years. I know where folks' hearts are at when they say "thanks for your service" just realize that for some it shattered their entire life and they don't feel too good about the reminder (got served on that one recently). The finest military in the world needs to have the best compensation for hurt warriors....
