I find it best, because we use Metric measurements here in NZ, to save as much of any one metal up as possible & take it in then.
A feed/seed sack is a good size for Aluminium. Great for Copper @ 55 Kgs a sackfull.
A fadge ( Gaylord for Americans ) ( LoL @ both ) for Ali drink cans.
The thing is, every weigh up is a bit over what the number is. Like a 10 Kg weighup is anything between 10.01 Kgs & 10.99 Kgs. So a average of 10.5 Kgs on that weigh up.
So every 10 sales of Copper costs you 5 Kgs in Copper weight.
@ 5 Kgs a sale, thats 10% of your weight lost.
Americans & British use Lbs so their division is in 454 grams & nowhere as noticable.
I noticed last week where the guy pulled out some Domestic from my burnt Copper wire & 13 Kgs become 11 plus 1 Kgs....
Also, if you do save it up ( and store it 8n a safe place & dont tell anybody ) once you get to 200 Kgs, call your scrapyard & say that you "have a good amount, over 200 Kgs etc " & they might need something like that to fill a order & will pay a bit extra for it.
Even competing yards call up other yards to do this, even in competition they know that they both can make more $$ in the long term by doing this.
