I dunno ... i was just looking at the " Similar threads on the Scrap Metal Forum " thingie for this thread. We've been complaining about lower scrap prices for five or six years now. Maybe the world is changing around us.
It's probably safe to say that the glory days of scrapping were pre-recession of 2007-2008 ? The economy was way overheated and prices were high.
Scrap prices have been declining since then. It's been a process of weeding out the wheat from the chaff ? An awful lot of folks who were posting here have fallen by the wayside over the years. Some died ... others lost interest and moved on to something else. It is survival of the fittest in the world of business.
Maybe i'm cynical ? Maybe i'm a realist ?
At the end of the day ... it's all just a numbers game. Run in the red ? Run in the black ? It's all situational ?
The world does change though. It's the process of evolution.
If you could get a picture of what it all would look like in five or ten years .... you could change and adapt accordingly. You know .... map a way through so that you come out on the winning end of things ?
