Thanks. I was worried about both my suspension and brakes, but I drove it nice and slow and gave myself more stopping distance than I would even in snow. I am glad the yard wasn't far and the roads were not congested.

too worried about a ticket because although it wasn't the smartest move to overload - and I wouldn't do it again, I have seen so much worse with loads not tied down etc... and the PD in my area absolutely
do not care. I've seen them just pass stupid loaded trucks and even sit next to them in traffic and just not give a rats.
I've only exceeded the payload once before but it was only by ~20-40lbs not 500+lbs and after cleaning it I ended up under payload when taking it to the yard - my previous record.
This is also proof that you can avoid picking up freezers and refrigerators (because of not having equipment and licensing to dispose of coolant) and still make $$.
